At the ready age of 19, she made her personal commitment to the Lordship through baptism and received the Holy Ghost in 1974 at the Refuge Church of our Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith, Inc., under the leadership of Apostle Gentle L. Groover, Sr. She served faithfully in her church, becoming the church choir directress.

In March of 2017, after the transition of her husband, Bishop James Brant, Jr., she assumed the  position as the senior pastor until June 2022, when she passed to the torch of senior pastorate to        her eldest son, Elder James Brant, III.

 

   Dr. Denise, a very quiet person, however, well educated, and has numerous accomplishments such     as an associates and bachelor’s degree in Christian Education and Counseling, a master’s degree      in theological studies, and an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters. She is the director of the           Zarephath Learning Center, a daycare and Pre-K facility. She is also the co-founder and                       executive director of Zarephath Academy, a school of excellence that has ministered to nearly            200+ students per year since 2006, grades K-12th.  During the infancy of the Academy, she took       on the role as the kindergarten teacher. Having already successfully raised six sons, she was           without question well qualified to teach. She is also the co-founder and executive director of the        House of Hope Developmental Care Center, an adult assistant living facility.
